Of World Bloggers and Sisterhoods

Nova at Confessions of a Literary Addict nominated me for this award, so thanks! I’m pretty sure someone else nominated me, too, but I cannot remember who at the moment (I AM SO SORRY >_>). But yes, I’m always tickled when I get these.

THE RULES

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and post a link to their site.
  • Put the award logo on your site.
  • Answer the questions.
  • Nominate seven blogs.

THE QUESTIONS

In one word, how would you like your readers to describe your blog?

Eclectic? I kind of post different things depending on the week. Okay, so they’re mostly about books. And writing. And books and baking. But yeah, mostly books. So…wordy? Bookish? Something along those lines.

Which is your most favorite among your blog posts? Why?

I don’t have particular favorites, though posting about author events I’ve attended does have an added excitement factor, considering. The stuff I wrote about meeting Garth Nix and Rae Carson are definitely highlights.

What/who inspires most of your blog posts?

Books, mostly! And video games. And occasionally comics. Whatever I’m baking/cooking tends to be inspired by things, and those end up on my blog. And I like reading and writing reviews, and I love promoting stuff I write, so those are plenty inspirations and motivations.

What do you aspire to accomplish this year?

To find the balance between work, writing, and everything else. It’s been a bit difficult the past year, since my new job tended to take over most of my real life and thensome. I want to be able to find the time to write as much as I used to.

What do you aspire to learn this year?

The secrets to life, the universe, and every–okay, maybe not. Generally, I like to learn a lot of different things, and I want to continue to learn about a lot of different things. This really depends on my mood as well, because I tend to like doing research on things I don’t know about, especially for my stories.

What is your most favorite book? Why?

Ughhh…I have so many of those! Currently? Uprooted by Naomi Novik. That one’s the one to beat this year.

What’s the most courageous thing you have ever done?

Anything that takes me out of the usual shy bubble I’ve put myself in totally counts as courageous. I’m not a big talker in real life, and if you put me on stage, I tend to be the girl most likely to get stage fright. That said, I faced down an entire room of three-year-old and four-year-old parents and survived. I think that took a lot of courage to do, for me anyway.

If you could be a superhero, what would be your superpower?

I normally answer with flight, ’cause I’d love to go places without having to pay the crazy airplane costs. But if I really think about it, I’d totally love being able to call upon fire at my fingertips. So I can burn some bitches. Wait, that might actually make me a supervillain…oops.

Who is your female role model?

I don’t have just the one. There are a lot of females out there that are phenomenal role models. Mothers, warriors, authors, scientists, mathematicians, business execs, fictional characters, actresses, and the list goes on. Growing up, I’d probably say Amelia Earhart for daring to do what no man–and woman–has ever done as far as a flight alone across the Atlantic Ocean. Plus, she shares my birthday, so that makes her doubly awesome.

THE NOMINATIONS

EVERYONE. Honestly, I’ve seen this award floating all over the place on my WordPress feed, so I’m pretty sure a bunch of you have done this already.
