Book Tag: Game of Thrones

You know, by this point I would have done something baking-wise considering Game of Thrones is about to wrap up with its final season, but seeing my track record of “hahahahahaha when do I have the time to do any of this”, I decided maybe I’ll save a few commemorative bakes for the next few weeks.

So instead, to round out the beginning of Season 8, here’s a Game of Thrones Book Tag!

HOUSE LANNISTER: HEAR ME ROAR

Name a book that you originally loved, but upon a re-read realized that it wasn’t so great after all.

I remember being very into this story some years back, especially because it had all to do with Baba Yaga and historical fiction. But when I reread it for Fableulous Retellings, I wasn’t as gung-ho about it as I originally had been. For a combination of things, not just because of the author, mind.

HOUSE STARK: WINTER IS COMING

Name your most anticipated book release for 2019.

Uh. I’m kind of horrible with this, because honestly, even the books I’ve been anticipating since last year I haven’t read yet…oops? That said, I’ll probably say…

Because more #snowbaz action AND I really want to know what happens next with Zelie.

HOUSE TARGARYEN: FIRE AND BLOOD

Name a book that you felt completely slayed with fantastic characters, plot, pacing, etc.

Oh, haaaah. Just about every book I’ve 5-starred maybe? None comes to mind this year (not yet, I’m hoping to change that), so I’m going with my favorites from last year:

Lots of bird-love went around last year, heh. Honestly, though, these books were spectacular and I pretty much got through them quickly enough.

HOUSE BARATHEON: OURS IS THE FURY

Name a book that ended with a cliffhanger ending that genuinely pissed you off.

More like I was pissed off because I knew that ending was coming and yet I FELT SO BETRAYED.

HOUSE MARTELL: UNBOWED. UNBENT. UNBROKEN.

Name a book, or book series, that’s been on your TBR since the dawn of time.

LMAO yeah, okay, going on almost 10 years now? The rest of the Artemis Fowl series and at least one N.K. Jemisin book.

HOUSE BOLTON: OUR BLADES ARE SHARP

Name the most graphic or disturbing book that you’ve ever read.

Easily the graphic novel version of a very harrowing book. Though I suppose if you’re talking gore, probably Monstress.

HOUSE TYRELL: GROWING STRONG

Name a book, or book series, that gets better and better with every re-read.

I haven’t been re-reading a series lately, especially since I want to keep going with other books I haven’t read, but COME ON. This is almost always my answer recently.
