Mini Reviews: Moon Called, Vols. 1 and 2

Bingeing on graphic novels is the best! I’ve had these two graphic novel depictions for ages, and occasionally I flip through them to look at the pictures. I haven’t actually read them cover to cover until recently.

Now, anything Mercy Thompson-related now gets a lot of my bias, because I’m a fan of the actual series, and this is no different. I will say that I probably rated both volumes higher than what I would have done if I’d never read Moon Called before. If I was just looking at the pictures…well, there were some character illustrations I disagreed with, and others I was just meh about.

In any case, more Briggs goodness!

Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 comprise of the entirety of Moon Called, which is book 1 of the Mercy Thompson series. These two graphic novels are truncated adaptations, so they do pale in comparison to the actual book, but still a pleasure to read.

Both volumes definitely made me go back to skim-reading the first five books of the series again.

Have you read either of these books? What did you think?
