It’s that time of the year where I reflect on some of my favorite reads so far! I’m in the process of reading Ninth House, and enjoying it so far, but since I haven’t actually finished it, this is my tentative Top Ten List. It’ll be interesting to see my full year list at the end of 2020. There’ve been some really good reads so far, and I haven’t even cracked a lot of my TBR.
Top Ten Mid-Year Favorite Reads of 2020
In order of most recent reads, with little explanations as to why. My comprehensive list/reflection usually goes up at the end.
Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs || Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston || The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston
Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow || Monster, She Wrote by Lisa Kroger and Melanie Anderson || Dead Voices by Katherine Arden || Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman
Wayward, Vol. 4 by Jim Zub || Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid || Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski
Cool post!

Hah, I did much prefer Dead Voices to its prequel, which was Small Spaces. I do love Arden though, she’s such a great scene writer.

So many good books on this list! I feel so behind looking at it. xD I really enjoyed Dead Voices (more than Small Spaces, actually), and I’m looking forward to the third book! Thunderhead is probably my favorite book of the Arc of a Scythe series (and I love the series), but I did get a chance to read The Toll this year. I’m actually getting ready to start The Witcher series soon, so I’m glad to see that it made your list!
Here’s my TTT post.

I have to read The Toll at some point! I’ve been sitting on a copy since last year but just haven’t gotten to it yet. I did love the short stories in the Witcher, so happy reading on that count!

Monster She Wrote was fascinating – I need more nonfiction like that. 🙂

Have you tried Princesses Behaving Badly? I’ve been on a nonfiction kick, and enjoyed that one too.

Daisy Jones and the Six and Red White and Royal Blue are two of my favorite books ever! What a great list! Have you listened to the Daisy Jones as an audiobook? It’s seriously one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. Just followed your blog – seems like we have similar taste in books!

The Daisy Jones audiobook is the absolute BEST! I actually listened to both RWRB and DJatS as audiobooks, and both were stellar performances.
