I haven’t done a TTT in a while, but I always found it useful to unpack my favorites after half the year has gone by. In this case, there’s been a lot of Leigh Bardugo faves I read through this year, and I’m not even apologetic about it. Of course, there’s more to read the rest of the year, so this list is certainly changing (though there’d be a huge upheaval if Crooked Kingdom and Six of Crows get deposed off my top ten for 2021).
In order of most recently read to least recently read…
Top Ten Mid-Year Favorite Books of 2021
The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo || The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune || Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo || The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel || Midnight Poppy Land by Lilydusk || These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
Monstress, Vol. 5: Warchild by Marjorie M. Liu || Shades of Magic, Vol. 2: Night of Knives by V.E. Schwab || The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
ahh so many good books! glad to see crooked kingdom here!
