Mini Reviews: The Steel Prince, Burn Bright

July 11, 2019July 9, 2019by Mari2 Comments on Mini Reviews: The Steel Prince, Burn Bright

Yeah, my June readings amounted to...four books. Oops?! That being said, I spent quite a bit of the last half of the month traveling, so that might explain much. Also, audiobook reading slowed because I didn't often have access to Libby. But in any case! Before I did go on my Moroccan trip, I polished [...]

This is me polishing off the last set of mini-reviews that I meant to do for May. Yay catching up! I went on a Briggs-fest a couple weeks back, and now I've completely run out of Mercy Thompson-universe books. Which means I'm going to have to find another light urban fantasy to start reading sometime [...]

Talk about rating two different types of stories on the opposite sides of the rating spectrum! I'm slowly catching up to my Patricia Briggs addiction, hence me jumping into book 3 of the Alpha and Omega series. I was quite taken by it, may I add. I also just finished the last set of manga I'd borrowed [...]

Mari

Mari-with-an-I prefers her fantasies drenched in oil and fried up in faerie, but when that’s not the case, she’ll read it anyway. She likes writing what she reads, and likes baking while she writes. She’s written a few things for anthologies, including an anthology that got translated into Czech (I know, right?! Eeeeee!), and if you haven’t read them yet, she urges you to do so! Who knows, there might be a few cookies waiting for you at the end of the read.

…Or not. (Blast her pet steampoctopus for eating them all!)

Reading Ratings (in Cookies)

5 cookies = Book was so deliciously awesome that I couldn't put it down or get it out of my mind for a while.

4 cookies = Book was great and certainly worth the read.

3 cookies = Book was good but I expected better.

2 cookies = Meh.

1 cookie = Why did I even bother?!

Was this worth the wait?! DAMN RIGHT IT WAS. ACOTAR playing cards by @elithienart and everything from the packaging to the artwork and the cards themselves are 👩‍🍳 💋 💋 💋. Absolutely gorgeous. #acotar #playingcards #acotarfanart #elithienart
I CANNOT get over how gorgeous this @fairyloot edition is of Spice Road by Maiya Ibrahim! They've definitely knocked it out of the ballpark this month, for both the adult and YA boxes 🥰 #spiceroad #maiyaibrahim #fairyloot #yabox #special edition books #bookstagram
