Mini Reviews: Wires and Nerve Vol. 2, Restore Me

Again, more books I'd read sometime in June but figure I'll throw into the blog for the sake of completion! I meant to write a review of Stars Above but then forgot I finished Wires and Nerve Vol 2: Gone Rogue. While I will most likely write a fuller review of each of the stories [...]

Mini Reviews: Monstress Vol. 5, Lady Justice

So I participated in the #24in48 Readathon this month, and that resulted in quite a number of books read for the month of February. These graphic novels were just some of the books I ended up finishing, and I love being ahead in my TBR pile for the year. So far, so good...we'll see how [...]

Mini Reviews: The Steel Prince, Vols. 2 and 3

Here's a bit of a Schwabfest. It's been two years since I've actually read the first volume of The Steel Prince series (you can tell by the fact that I've since changed my mini-reviews format!), but it left such a lasting impression that I certainly had no trouble picking up where they left off! The graphics [...]

Getting back into gear with some SFF reviews! I've been following each volume of Monstress ever since I read the first volume up on Netgalley some time ago. So this is no different, despite my not having made it to the 2019 NYCC; despite BookCon being cancelled this year. All the same, I do love [...]

Mini Reviews: Wayward Vol. 3 and 4

I've been meaning to post a few reviews but I kept forgetting to write anything down, which is weird, because I write EVERYTHING down. Anyway, finally got around to posting up some Wayward reviews! I like this series so far. There's been a bit of a divide, with some people falling off the interest wagon by Volume [...]

Mari-with-an-I prefers her fantasies drenched in oil and fried up in faerie, but when that’s not the case, she’ll read it anyway. She likes writing what she reads, and likes baking while she writes. She’s written a few things for anthologies, including an anthology that got translated into Czech (I know, right?! Eeeeee!), and if you haven’t read them yet, she urges you to do so! Who knows, there might be a few cookies waiting for you at the end of the read.

…Or not. (Blast her pet steampoctopus for eating them all!)

Reading Ratings (in Cookies)

5 cookies = Book was so deliciously awesome that I couldn't put it down or get it out of my mind for a while.

4 cookies = Book was great and certainly worth the read.

3 cookies = Book was good but I expected better.

2 cookies = Meh.

1 cookie = Why did I even bother?!

Was this worth the wait?! DAMN RIGHT IT WAS. ACOTAR playing cards by @elithienart and everything from the packaging to the artwork and the cards themselves are 👩‍🍳 💋 💋 💋. Absolutely gorgeous. #acotar #playingcards #acotarfanart #elithienart
I CANNOT get over how gorgeous this @fairyloot edition is of Spice Road by Maiya Ibrahim! They've definitely knocked it out of the ballpark this month, for both the adult and YA boxes 🥰 #spiceroad #maiyaibrahim #fairyloot #yabox #special edition books #bookstagram
