Death Warmed Over || Thunderhead Review

Initial Thoughts: Okay. SO. This was not quite as enjoyable as Scythe for the main reason that it got frustrating to read halfway through. But by a certain point I was certainly invested in the characters so that so-called ending shot my ANXIETY LEVEL SKY-HIGH AND I CANNOT DEAL. NOTE: This book is the second [...]

Mini Reviews: Mortal Engines, White Stag

Aaaand here we have some e-books that I've been holding onto for ages! Time to get those reviews out now. I do appreciate thatĀ Mortal EnginesĀ is an adventure tale, and I loved the premise that the world was destroyed and now all that's left are traction cities eating away at smaller, anti-traction cities. Also, one of [...]

Mini Reviews: City of Ember, Hollow City

I've been getting into children's books lately, mostly because a lot of my reading the past few weeks has been for my voldies in school. That being said, I have one below that I really liked, and the other that I was kind of disappointed in. The City of Ember was one of the books [...]

Words and Wordsmiths || The List Review

Initial Thoughts: This seems to be leading up to an overall big picture story, which means sequels. Yay. (Make note I also groaned.) It was a simple, middle grade read about a dystopia pulling from Biblical and Bradburyan (that's totally a word now...) inspiration, and I did love the concept of a wordsmith collecting and [...]

Skill and Slavery || Gilded Cage Review

Initial Thoughts: Hot damn, but this was a very good book. It was DARK by the end, and now I'm bummed because I have to wait for the second book, but omg, that ending though. I can't trust anyone in this book! And I definitely should have told myself not to get attached to people. [...]

Mari-with-an-I prefers her fantasies drenched in oil and fried up in faerie, but when that’s not the case, she’ll read it anyway. She likes writing what she reads, and likes baking while she writes. She’s written a few things for anthologies, including an anthology that got translated into Czech (I know, right?! Eeeeee!), and if you haven’t read them yet, she urges you to do so! Who knows, there might be a few cookies waiting for you at the end of the read.

…Or not. (Blast her pet steampoctopus for eating them all!)

January book wrapup! Loving the new style for this year's reading journal. Might change how I do the book summaries tho. With grad school happening during the month, six books isn't bad!
Daughter of the Moon Goddess was my first @fairyloot subscription, and ever since then, I've been obsessed by their special edition books. I'm glad I got to snag the second book of this duology! #daughterofthemoongoddess #heartofthesunwarrior #suelynntann #fairyloot #specialedition #books #bookstagram
