Mini Reviews: Shatter Me, Wires and Nerve Vol. 1

Happy Revenge of the Fifth! For that, I think it's high time to do some science fiction reviews, which is good timing this week! I normally do not recommend books to my 7th graders if I've never read them, but a few years back I was recommended the Shatter Me series, and one of my [...]

Double-feature mini of the same story! Okay, so there is a distinct difference between the two. The thing about retelling a story and putting them into graphic novel form is there will always be something missing. Graphic novels are limited in scope. But what it lacks in worldbuilding and character content, it compensates with pictures, [...]

Mini Reviews: Legend and Prodigy Graphic Novels

Mini Reviews: Legend and Prodigy Graphic Novels

I usually love it when I see graphic novel adaptations of books I love. In this case, though, the Legend series graphic novels actually brought me back to finishing up the trilogy itself. There was just so much emotional angst in Prodigy (none of which I reveled in) that I wasn't keen on picking up [...]

Mini Reviews: Legend, Prodigy

I realize that I'd been sitting on writing a review for Legend for the longest time, but I honestly forgot most of what I'd wanted to write about it at this point. By the time I skimmed through Prodigy, I decided that these were better off as mini-reviews. The Legend copy I'm reviewing was an [...]

Death Warmed Over || Thunderhead Review

Death Warmed Over || Thunderhead Review

Initial Thoughts: Okay. SO. This was not quite as enjoyable as Scythe for the main reason that it got frustrating to read halfway through. But by a certain point I was certainly invested in the characters so that so-called ending shot my ANXIETY LEVEL SKY-HIGH AND I CANNOT DEAL. NOTE: This book is the second [...]

Mari-with-an-I prefers her fantasies drenched in oil and fried up in faerie, but when that’s not the case, she’ll read it anyway. She likes writing what she reads, and likes baking while she writes. She’s written a few things for anthologies, including an anthology that got translated into Czech (I know, right?! Eeeeee!), and if you haven’t read them yet, she urges you to do so! Who knows, there might be a few cookies waiting for you at the end of the read.

…Or not. (Blast her pet steampoctopus for eating them all!)

I'm finding myself with an actual weekend where I have little work to do...so the goal is to finish one (or two or all...) of the books on my TBR! #bookstagram #booknerd #books #bookish #readingisfun
AM I LITERALLY DONE WITH MY PORTFOLIO? YES I AM. One more check tomorrow and I think I'm going to celebrate the end of this semester with some poké!
