Mini Reviews: Paper Girls, Vol. 2 and 3

Catching up on my book review lists! I'm looking forward to reading the last volume in this series, but holy heck, I swear Vaughan throws so many random curve balls in his stories that in the case of Paper Girls I'm still scratching my head with confusion in these next two volumes. That being said, I [...]

More reviews! These were audiobooks I had handy last week that I ended up finishing within a few days of each other. It's what happens when I'm cleaning the house? I'll probably be ripping through audiobooks once I start organizing my bookshelves this week as well. Anyway, at this point, I've read the graphic novel [...]

Mini Reviews: Saga, Volumes 8 and 9

I just got off the #24in48 Reading Challenge last weekend, so instead of scrambling to get books read for review, I find that I've an abundance of books to review! Which is a good thing, I suppose, because now I'm ahead of my Goodreads goal for the year. Which makes this post Saga-centric. If you don't know what [...]

Mini Reviews: The Steel Prince, Burn Bright

July 11, 2019July 9, 2019by MariLeave a Comment on Mini Reviews: The Steel Prince, Burn Bright

Yeah, my June readings amounted to...four books. Oops?! That being said, I spent quite a bit of the last half of the month traveling, so that might explain much. Also, audiobook reading slowed because I didn't often have access to Libby. But in any case! Before I did go on my Moroccan trip, I polished [...]

Because clearly these two have absolutely similar themes... Yeah, okay. Really, I was just on my audiobook kick as usual. I've been singing to the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack ever since last summer, so when I saw the novel as an audiobook, I needed it in my life. Now I'm going to go listen to the [...]

Mari-with-an-I prefers her fantasies drenched in oil and fried up in faerie, but when that’s not the case, she’ll read it anyway. She likes writing what she reads, and likes baking while she writes. She’s written a few things for anthologies, including an anthology that got translated into Czech (I know, right?! Eeeeee!), and if you haven’t read them yet, she urges you to do so! Who knows, there might be a few cookies waiting for you at the end of the read.

…Or not. (Blast her pet steampoctopus for eating them all!)

Reading Ratings (in Cookies)

5 cookies = Book was so deliciously awesome that I couldn't put it down or get it out of my mind for a while.

4 cookies = Book was great and certainly worth the read.

3 cookies = Book was good but I expected better.

2 cookies = Meh.

1 cookie = Why did I even bother?!

I COULD be watching so many other things right now, but Netflix did a documentary on Dirty Dancing and now obviously I'd have to put the actual movie on. Because #nowivehadthetimeofmylife #dirtydancing #movievices
I am now clearly ready to cosy up with a book this winter! My December #owlcrate just arrived and it's got a badass queen in the castle! #getdownyoudirtyrascals #theguineveredeception #kierstenwhite #bookswag #booknerd #bookstagram #bookpics #bookish #books
